The Munich Trauma Course, the first stand-alone ARTOF Program in Asia, on the final day, is the showstopper of the conference

It is with immense honour & pleasure that we invite you all to the 4th Trauma Update, on behalf of the Association of Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons, to be held from September 7 - 9, 2018 at Hyatt Regency, Kolkata. Your continuous love and support made AOTS Trauma Update 2017 a huge success and worthwhile in every sense. This year, we envision an academic event rich in brilliant course content and interactive workshop sessions to learn. We will be inspired by International, National Faculty. The theme of this conference is "Rational Treatment of Lower Limb Injuries". The aim of our conference is to impart knowledge in such a way that each delegate can effectively put it into their practice from the very next day.

  • Cancellation request can be made from the user profile of individual registrant. 
  • One can make request to cancel any of the Breakfast Session registrations, MUNICH TRAUMA COURSE registration and Accompany registration. 
  • With the cancellation of Conference Registration, all the paid and complimentary services/facilities/entitlements will be cancelled.
  • Cancellation will be effective with the acknowledgement sent from the AOTS TRAUMA UPDATE 2018 Secretariat. Refund will be remitted within 15 working days of the receipt of acknowledgement. 
  • Cancellation Requests made by 31st July, will be considered for the refund of 70% of the total paid amount.
  • No refund will be applicable on internet handling charges, taxes etc. (applicable for all type of registration/reservation )
  • Refund will be remitted directly to the account.
  • No refund will be applicable in case of eventual No Show.
  • In the case of over payment or double payment, the same refund timing will be applicable.
  • Neither the AOTS TRAUMA UPDATE 2018 nor any of its associates will be held responsible if the event is cancelled or postponed. In case of cancellation or postponement of the event, refund policies and other financial liabilities would be decided then and delegates will be informed accordingly. 
  • No refund will be granted for unattended events or early termination of attendance, cancellation of speakers or any other incident which are beyond the control of the organisers.

Content Specification

  • Topic – Abstracts must be based on any of the following:
    • Basic science research
    • Exceptional single case or case series
    • Innovation of techniques of instruments
  • Structure – Abstracts should be structured under the given headings.
    • Title
    • Background & Aim
    • Material & Method
    • Result
    • Conclusion
  • Word count – not to exceed 300 words (excluding the title)
  • Language – English, clear and concise
  • Title – limited to 25-30 words, (don’t put full stop (.) at the end of the title)
  • Abstract title, author, co-author, presenter and affiliation details must NOT be inserted in the Content field (should contain the SCIENTIFIC CONTENT ONLY).
  • Please proofread the abstract for spelling and grammar before submitting it.
  • No images, graphs, references or illustrations are allowed.
  • Use numerals to indicate number, except to begin sentences.
  • Standard abbreviations are acceptable. Uncommon abbreviations must be put in parentheses and preceded by the full word the first time it appears in the text.
  • The data presented should be original work of the author and have not been plagiarized from any other source.
  • The scientific method(s) must be sound and result(s) or outcome(s) should be mentioned in the abstract. Plans for work without evidences or results do not usually constitute an adequate abstract.
  • Avoid personal criticisms of individuals in the abstract. Criticism should be restricted to the scientific contents, based on evidences.
  • The scientific work was published in any format in any national or international journals before or having been accepted for publication before the abstract submission closing date.
  • The presentation has been delivered before in any format in any previous scientific meets.
  • Abstracts submitted online, will be accepted only. Go to ‘Submit Now’ or log in to your TRAUMA UPDATE 2018 profile for the same.
  • Only registered delegates are eligible for submission. A submitter must be one of the author(s) or co-authors.
  • Only a registered delegate can present a paper on dais. In case, the Presenter and the submitter is not the same person, the Presenter must register for the conference before his presentation.
  • A Presenter must be one of the author(s) or co-authors.
  • All correspondences will be mailed to the Presenter only.
  • Maximum 1 abstract can be submitted by one delegate.
  • Abstract must comply with all the specified guidelines. Late submissions will not be accepted.

  • - Submitters should strictly maintain the following while providing their contact details

  • Author and co-author details – Full name, affiliation details such as department, institution/hospital, city, state, country & contact details should be mentioned properly so that the scientific committee can get you in case.

  • - All abstract submitters are hereby requested to go through the following carefully

  • Submission of the abstract signifies the author’s consent to publish (in case) the same as a part of TRAUMA UPDATE 2018 proceedings. The scientific committee also reserves the right to reproduce the abstracts/presentations made in the conference in print or electronic media.
  • Submitted abstracts can be edited or revised online only. Please log in to your TRAUMA UPDATE 2017 profile for the same.
  • Please avoid the resubmission of same abstract.
  • The abstracts will be reviewed online by experts’ panel through an unbiased, blinded selection process. This is the reason that the content area must NOT contain the author, co-author, presenter and affiliation details. Reviewers will be able to see only the title and the content. Once selected, the Presenters of the selected abstracts will be informed accordingly via e-mail.
  • An abstract, selected, will be considered for only one presentation: either oral or poster. The same will be specified in the e-mail confirming the selection of your abstract.
  • Selection of top five submissions will be on merit. The scientific committee holds the sole right to accept or reject abstracts, to assign those on oral platform and to decide on the final slot allocation.
